4 mice and counting...
So, recently, we noticed mouse droppings in the car, plus a nest under the 6/7th seats. This is new and probably associated with a transfer of bags from the (infested) garage to the car. I've set a humane trap and caught a mouse eveny 12 hours for the last 48 hours. Which I've then released in the garden.
Assuming that the car has remained locked and closed in the meantime, I'm asking myself if it isn't the same bloody mouse(!) that keeps coming back. A couple of initial questions come to mind. How to mark animals that groom themselves fastidiously without mutilating them so I can tell if it's the same mouse (and kill it or look for entry points). Secondly how's the barsteward getting in!!!
Does anyone else have any idea/experience?!-------------------------------------------------------------------

Preferably applied with a 7lb hammer .
I put an expensive armchair in my garage 4 weeks ago, I went to fetch it back 1 week ago and it was completely ruined by mice, I have since caught and killed 8 mice with traps in the same chair It can when others can't,

I think others have found they can get in behind the rear lights but there are probably routes in through the bulkhead too.
I have long since lost any sympathy for the little and just use a proper trap. Better that than the cats get hold of them.2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Thanks guys, sadly, I think i am going I'm going to have to come up with a 'quick dispatch' solution or a better deadly trap. The ate the peanut butter off the last one without triggering it!-------------------------------------------------------------------

Despatch with haste then peppermint oil diluted with water, mist spray inside car. They hate the smell.
Essentially, they are returning because of their scent in your car.

Whatever you do, don't poison them or you'll end up with them decaying and stinking out the car in whatever cubbyhole they nest in....... always on the road less travelled 🚧
If you're only releasing in your garden, it will keep coming back. A few hundreds yards should do it..

I use apple, a slice the size of your finger nail, leave the skin on and push the skin through the bait spike so that it won’t come off easily

Dried fruit works well too as it can be pressed into the bate holder so they have to work a bit harder, thus triggering the trap. They love raisins and sultanas!yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Last week found evidence of mouse nests under engine cover. Have left cover off and sprayed all engine compartments of our three vehicles with Jeyes fluid.
Serviced the Disco last month and found mouse droppings on the pollen filter and partly chewed. Anyone know if I can fit a steel mesh over the air entry point into the heater?
It’s worth checking the large grommet over the spare wheel winch is in position as if not that’s a good entry point for the little blighters.
I have four traps permanently located in the Disco - one under each front seat and two out the back.
Not a child friendly car.
As an aside at my local MOT station last week they were replacing a Freelander fuel tank sender unit as a mouse had chewed into the fuel exit and entry points ??????
