Approved Used Land Rover (any model) warranty change?

I'm just in the process of getting my approved used Discovery 4 and it looks like I might be only just in time in terms of the LR warranty (my vehicle is just over five years old and on 72,000 miles)

Although the LR website says this:

"Vehicles under 7 years old – 12 months cover

Vehicles over 7 years old – 6 months cover

Your Land Rover Approved Warranty can be extended at the time of vehicle purchase:

Vehicles under 7 years old – 12 or 24 months

Vehicles over 7 years old – 6 or 12 months"

see it on this page (and elsewhere):

http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk/?_...1420557059

Other websites are already offering poorer terms, e.g.

http://www.sytner.co.uk/guy-salmon-land-ro...-used.aspx

Does anyone know more? As a customer it appears to me that LR are saying

a. Our cars are built worse than ever so we cannot give as good a warranty as we used to

and/or

b. Right you customers, we've found another way to get more money out of you as our poorly built cars are costing us too much in warranty work.

My spies tell me that this change comes in on 1 February, i.e. a couple or so days.

Thoughts, comments (and have I posted this in the right spot?).

cheers,
 Stockers

I'd say it looks like Sytners (in your second link) have made an error.

As according to Land Rover themselves it's vehicles up to seven years old that get 12 months warranty as standard.

LR have only ever offered a 3 year warranty that is underwritten by them ...the dealers are offering or you are buying a third party warranty after that Thumbs Up
