Command Shift - Any Effect on Transmission ?

Up until recently I have been using my flappy paddles to change down when descending steep hills with the caravan in tow. This provides more control of the outfit and less stress on the brakes.

But maybe this has an adverse effect on the transmission over the long term, especially the torque converter.

Any technical experts got a view ?

In my opinion that is the correct way to drive - use of engine braking will not upset the transmission.

Regarding 'less stress on the brakes' a properly setup trailer will do almost all of its own braking so don't worry about that Thumbs Up
