Is there anything behind here?
I want to put a Mic clip in for my radio, if I were to put 2 small self-tappers in as per picture would it cause any issues? Nick

If you put a screw in there, you will knock off about £40,000 off your truck ! It would stop me buying a car like that due to screw holes in the dash

The car was only £31,000 when it was new ...... but I take your point, maybe another plan is required. Nick

Why not glue a piece of Velcro there, can be removed with the appropriate solvent?

Even if you drilled in there, you'll always be able to get a replacement easily enough. Or...... I'll give you a fiver for the car now it's been drilled... Bodsys Brake Bible

Laupno - Thank you for the link. I use Brodit currently, you can just see it in the top R of the picture.
Discogaz - Good idea and may well be the winning suggestion
Bodsy - Luckily for me (unluckily for you) the drilling has not yet taken place and following on from comments here is unlikely to ever take place
Thanks one and all Nick

Why dont you just put a mobilemagnet there.
And glue a washer on the backside of the mic.
Thats what I have done in my car.
