Euro 6

I am wondering what LR needs to do to make it's engines Euro 6 compliant for September? Will this lead to output reductions as an interim measure or will the Discovery engine move back to a single turbo like happened in the FFRR? Anyone know?

My advice is don't buy one, let someone else do the product testing.
The trucks went euro6 mid 2014, talk about complicated! and the price went up 10k, unsurprisingly they sold very few initially.

The engine is just that an engine, the exhaust equipment is absolutely amazing, cats, dpf, ammonia cat, extra injectors and sensors galore, when you have a fault mil light on dash then a few hours later engine goes into derate mode to keep the emissions in check.
Now is there now egr alongside the adblue/scr system, the egr has a flow valve thats water-cooled, the turbo is water-cooled, the exhaust brake is water cooler, in fact its a plumbers nightmare with pipes all over the shop, its actually quite difficult to see the engine itself.
To give you an idea exhaust manifold gaskets e5 model 2hrs e6 models 8hrs.

But speaking to the drivers they all say the same thing, they pull much better than e5 models and also have better mpg economy, 10 mpg from a loaded 44 tonner kind of makes the D3/4 economy look crap!

My 2014 BMW X5 is Euro 6 and returns 35+ mpg vs about 29mpg in the MY11 D4. The X5 uses AdBlu and some owners have reported using 10 ltrs in about 6k miles with a mixture of towing and normal driving. Needless to say the BMW badged pig p*ss is almost 10 times the price of the stuff on Morrisons' forecourt.

We asked Renault a couple of weeks back on Euro 6, they say they won't be releasing Euro 6 till mid 2016, this is for vans, may be different to cars Question

You can buy emulators for the e5 models to stop the trucks using any adblue at all, so won't be long and some smart sod will have sussed out the e6.
I think we sell adblue at something like 50 per litre.
Thing is e5 models retain any major emission failure fault codes for 18mths as its law apparently, so I reckon e6 will come into the annual test some time in the future.

I may has mis-read the law but I thought that all engines had to be Euro 6 compliant by September this year and I don't believe that any LR's are currently.
