New car problems
I took delivery of a new Disco 4 recently after a terribly long delay and much frustration.
I noticed harsh shifts from 1st to second especially when cold as soon as I got the D4. This is my 3rd Disco in succession.
I called the dealer who siad to bring it in for testing.
I took delivery on a wednesday, and drove the car for a whole 5 days before returning her.
So far it's coming on for 2 weeks that they have had the car and still no joy in fixing her.
I have been told that there were faults relating to fuel pressure. Initially extensive tests were done on the wiring to the fuel pressure sensor. Then the sensor itself was replaced (after much vehicular dismantling!).
I am now being told that there must be a problem in the fuel tank, either the float system or the pumps in the tank as the vehicle loses power on driving up a steep incline. They are removing the fuel tank to do tests on the tank.
I had the vehicle for less time than she has been back at the dealer. I have never ever waited so long to have a problem fixed. Not even on the worst vehicles I owned as a student!
I am so frustrated and so disappointed. my new car experience has been ruined.
At what stage do you say enough is enough, you sold me a defective product and I want a refund or a new vehicle??

It's heart breaking because I absolutely love my Discovery's and have had such a disapointing experience.
I just want a nice new car and expect it to be perfect in every way as she rolls off the showroom floor. Is that too much to ask??

contact pete from Land rover and advise rejection of the car and request assistance of a replacement asap or fully refund.
Pete is the man for sorting this sort of bad omen from the LR community.FFRR SC 4.2

Andrew...
I'm sure LR South Africa will have some similar process of rejection and it won't hurt to have Pete on the case from here.
Given your experience so far, I be very tempted to be looking for a loan vehicle whilst / until they get you a shiny new one shipped out...
Of course, if you want me to pick it up in Solihull and drive it over...
Seriously, push back hard and I hope you get sorted soon...D4 Commercial - 65 Plate, 2016MY
D5 Commercial - Handed back when I left that job…
D4 Commercial (2014MY) - gone
D4 Commercial SDV6 - Baltic Blue (also gone)
D1 300TDi... 2" lift, HD bumpers (both), detachable tow hitch, 9,500lb winch, 235/85/16 muds and plenty of other toys (gone to make way for the next toy...)
Smiles per Mile - Tornado Motorsports caged Evo 3... 100" Defender look-alike, with Range Rover running gear - all fully IVA'd and registered!

Hoooray my Disco was replaced!!! After major to-ing and fro-ing my V8 was replaced.
After 8 weeks there was no inkling as to what the problem was.
Symptoms were: rough shifting, lack of response on accelerating on an incline and hesitancy in down and upshifts.
Diagnostics showed low fuel pressure codes and then no codes at all.
Attempts were made at recording real time data in the vehicle.
Engineers were sent down from LR South Africa to Cape Town.
Nothing worked and everybody was scratching their collective heads , but eventually the dealership came to the party and my vehicle was replaced.
I heard recently from the dealership that the problem was finally fixed and it was..........low gearbox oil WHAAAAAT? Just oil!

I was about to say get them to check the gearbox oil!
Problem is with ZF if they fail to fill to the correct level on build, this causes the harsh shifts.
They are supposed to do an end of line check, but.....
