Guy Salmon Stockport moving on Friday...
To their brand new Jaguar Land Rover showroom just off the M60 in Stockport. Iv'e been watching it go up over the past few months, looks very impressive.
Anyway, I shall have the pleasure of getting my car in the workshop when it first opens next Monday, as it needs some warranty work on the brakes.
Looking forward to a guided tour of the place!

Anothe dealer moving
When in Stafford I normally I pass by the local LR dealer.
However on Monday I noticed the site was vacant with notices up stating that they had moved.
My local dealer told me a few months back that LR are telling dealers that they need to set out their dealership in a set way and the cost to do this was in the hundreds of thousands - and my dealership is a relatively new build.
So just wondering if those dealership moves have anything to do with that?

doubling in size to be fair, as the marque has increased in popularity it's the right thing to do and the current showroom is in the middle of nowhere as it has been there for 30+years since it was an old school landrover garage for the farmers

It's the Corporate way....a friend works in a jewellery business, and Rolex demanded a separate, distinct Rolex-only area within their shop if they wanted to keep the sales franchise.
Not only that,Rolex insisted they would design and install the area to their own spec, and charge £250,000 for the privilege.
I wouldn't be surprised if what you heard was indeed the case..."Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

There was talk of this back when I was inside the dealer network. JLR were supposedly merging their Perth branches together, and the workshop, bodyshop and showroom were all being extended
Lookers @ Park Royal will be moving any day, reportedly the largest showroom in Europe.

Thought the LPR chaps frequented this site .... not a good showing if they still do, or is all that in the past now.

The mystery over their lack of understanding may be over. Although rather than just the words perhaps it was the semi that put them off?

That new building in Stockport does indeed look impressive-hope it does more business than the Infiniti dealership that you pass to get to it.
Hunters in Chester are in the process of knocking down the old Volkswagen dealership next door to them and will then triple their size.
Seems to be plenty of money in JLR at the moment-reminds me of Audi several years ago when they built new designer corporate showrooms and sales seemed to rocket.
I've been past the new building a few times overs the past few weeks and its very impressive especially the large windows perched 50 feet in the air so you can view vehicles as you drive past on the elevated M60.
However I went past on Tuesday and they now have vehicles in the windows and in my opinion they look very small and its hard to distinguish the different models...may be I'm going blind in my old age but I'd be interested what other members think who have seen the windows with actual vehicles in them.
Last week there was a combination of Jaguar's and LR vehicles in various windows...
Let's hope their service improves and they can learn to answer the phone !!!!
Hi Sharky,
Apologies that you've had trouble getting through. Could you drop me a PM with your contact details and the nature of your call and I will make sure you are called back.
