Descent from Val Thorens ski resort in heavy snow
Last Christmas we were in Val Thorens for some superb skiing. While the rest of Europe was lacking any snow we had plenty up there.
Albeit a little to much on the Saturday we had to drive home.
Below video is of the drive down from Val Thorens to Moutiers which took more than 9 hours, where 7 where for the last 5km.
The video shows some of the parts where we could actually drive.
Off course the D3 handled it all with ease and it was fun to drive this long in these conditions.
Spoiler: No snow chains where harmed in this video, or needed.

Just goes to show, even though you are in the most capable car on the road, your only as good as the one in front.

I was in the Alps last weekend and the forecast was for snow, we set off for home at 4 in the morning missing the snow. The ones that left after 8 got stuck for Up to 10 hours!

Yeah, when I see stuff like this, I sometimes think " I'd like to have been there". I have never found myself in conditions that really put the D3 to the test and I'm always a bit envious of people going offroad or encountering fords, heavy snow, etc etc.
But chances are I'd be stuck behind 40,000 less capable cars and what my car is capable of would be of no use at all. Also would hate to need to find out if the V8 can run 10 hours or more on one tank of petrol.
