Recall on seat padding
I took my car to the dealer today and sat in a brand new disco 4 and notice that the seat was very comfy. I asked the dealer to sit in my car And they said the seat padding is colapsed and this is s known issue and there is a recall for this. They have booked my car under warranty to rectify.
The interesting point is that I did not get a recall letter.
Anyways people check your disco4 car seat padding.

My dealer refused to change mine. Never been happy with it since new.
You don't tend to get recalls on non-safety items. TSBs and Service Actions yes, but not a recall.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Interesting, not been happy with mine since new, feels like you can feel the metal support through the padding after only a few miles of driving!..dealer said it was ok, however, it is the most uncomfortable Disco I have had in last nine years, will have to revisit this issue as I now know it is not only me....

To add another twist to this I have complained about mine and Land Rover have released a special tool (a steam wall paper stripper thing) and they are going to tighten the leather on mine with it.
My dealer is 8 miles from home. I'm betting my money on it been as or worse by the time I get home than before they started.
The dealer is waiting for the special tool to come in.26 and on the 4th LR..

It's worth noting that if the dealer does nothing then you must call Landrover Customer Service and complain.

I was wondering what year too. I had the seat padding in my 2011 D4 changed about 2 years ago because it had collapsed.

My car is MY2013 but I pretty much sure this issue goes much further back.

Interested int his - but how are we defining collapsing? My MY2010 drivers seat is starting to 'flatten' across the seat and the side bolsters but I attribute this more to my 17st than a design fault?
Would LR need to detect an actual material 'fault' to replace as otherwise it's just wear and tear isn't it?D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

When I sat in the driver seat, it felt like a steel bar was digging into me, also the leather was no longer taught in places - the car had only done approx 7500 miles at the time. The dealer first changed the seat base, but the problem persisted so the leather was also replaced as some of the stitching was very poor quality, no problem since and now at just over 15k miles.

Mine is a 2014 and just driven 300 miles, most uncomfortable journey, can feel the steel seat support through the seat foam pressing, it is just like sitting on a piece of steel!!! , leather no longer taught and seat looks like it is ten years old. Back to dealer next week...............
