Steel or cheaper alternative 2nd set of wheels? |
|
The new D3 alloys look great but i'm very wary of damaging them off road. In the past, my trusty Rangie would have a 2nd set for off roading, the last set cost no more than £400 inc tyres which I would gladly pay to protect my precious LR alloys.
So, does anyone know if a cheap set of aftermarket wheels are available yet? I've searched the forums but most replies are over a year old.

Your best bet is to keep an eye on ebay, 17" D3 alloys with tyres on come up fairly often for less than £400. The End

Looks like a good option, if they're still available after I get her then i'll bear them in mind.

You can get them on FleaBay for around £240 for 4 x 17" with practically brand new tyres too Just keep a close eye out each day.

I would love to have an extra set for off roading but I have been told that 17" wheels will not fit over the V8 HSE disc brakes. can anyone confirm?

Confirmed. They won't as the front braking system is too large on the V8 for the 17" wheel.
