Afternoon all.
I'm looking for a new torque converter for my 54 plate D3. I've looked at one from Bristol transmissions.
It states that its modified to prevent lockup judder. I've heard lots of good things about the company but I will be using my Indy.
Would this TC be the Best Buy???? It's around £500 with a £100 surcharge.
Thanks in advance.
Dave.

Big tbumbs up for Bristol Transmissions, they replaced my torque convertor... rebuilt the gearbox... transfer box... and replaced the rear prop shaft... 😎..
Guess i left replacing the convertor too long and had a knock-on effect... oops.. Si

Common theme there, just got mine back from Bristol Transmissions, it went in for a replacement torque convertor, and guess what, they said it needed a re-buillt gearbox, new bearings and output shaft in the transfer box and yeah, a new rear prop.
I told them to leave the rear prop alone as I would have a look at that myself once I got the car back, and the prop appears ok.
Luckily for me my warranty company picked up a big chunk of the bill.

As a rough guide, what sort of money did the rebuilt gearbox and new TC cost?

Re-con box including new torque convertor=£2495 fitted.
new bearings seals and input shaft in transfer box approx£400
less 10% discount they gave me then plus vat.
worked out around £3100

Solid bill that but I'm sure it'll be good. Thanks for sharing that info.
