New Posts based on IP Address rather than Username?

This has been frustrating me for a while now, but I *think* I've just figured out what's going on... Whistle

The "New Posts" link is great; I use it all the time to bring myself up to date with what's been happening on the forum whilst I was away. Sometimes I can be away for several hours but am greeted with "No posts met your criteria" or similar.

What seems to be happening is that the last logged-in time is being recorded against a client's IP address rather than a forum username. This means that when I access the forum on my iPhone or - even worse - when I connect to my employer's VPN, and refresh the site in the same browser I was using before I connected to the VPN, the list of topics I was reading is gone. Rolling Eyes

Is this a known problem, Martin? Can anything be done to fix this, please?

Thanks,

Steve

I get this all the time so I have saved in my bookmarks bar a link for posts over the last 12hrs - http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/search.php?s...p;hours=12

I just click that rather than new posts on the site link!

I have a bookmark with all posts from the last 12 hours, works a treat even if unread ones get marked as read. Thumbs Up
