IID BT / Pro App Changes Preview
There have been quite a few changes to the IID firmware recently and a new revision to the App is on its way.
The iOS App Version 2.5 is in beta and a few of us have been putting the various revisions through testing this week:

The top menu has been tweaked a little to include, for iOS 8, a new cog button for various app settings, such as various VIN obscuration options, bright light friendly colour scheme etc:

The fault code screen now has a search tool, which is handy when displaying the fault codes in expanded 'advanced' mode:

The new search tool works across all the live data parameters. So if you are looking for something specific and cannot remember which ECU(s) contain the field you are looking for just type in the first few letters:

The CCF pages have received a refresh and now show the active setting for each parameter on the top menu. The method of change remains the same, just tap the parameter and use the rotating picker to select the required option:

The search tool can also be used to find the CCF setting you are looking for. What is particularly welcome is a new 'Favourites' option that will allow the user to preselect and save all the setting required for a particular function. This could be for a set of live data required for say the gearbox, or all 6 injector values or the CCF settings required to enable a bluetooth phone system, grouped as one item.
Arguably the biggest change is the option of displaying the full, untested, CCF for the vehicle. This will give the user the ability to adjust any parameter stored in the vehicle. As this is the 'full CCF' as provided by JLR a large number of the settings are unused or irrelevant, but it will give the user complete control. As distinct from the 'tested' CCF the parameters set are only visible when selected:

So if you feel the need to change the rolling circumference setting of your tyres then so be it:

There is more to come but hopefully that gives you a flavour of this week's activities and the changes coming to the App in the very near future. I am sure full access to the CCF will appeal to the hardcore modifiers and the addition of favourite settings will appeal to those who routinely apply the same settings to vehicles when installing upgrades or suffer with poor memory!

The tool can provide DPF live data, but I do wonder about its efficacy.

Robbie, i agree with you - I was wondering about the DPF live data. I did a live trace of exhaust temps, DPF Volume remaining etc. and the Volume remaining has stayed stuck on 0 for months! The exhaust temps certainly showed that some regeneration should have taken place, but there was no change in the Volume Remaining parameter.
Exhaust temps seem to have a minimum reading of 120C, and the one associated with the second turbo only registers when you boot it and exceed the 2800rpm.
It would be useful if Pat and Co. could get the Volume Remaining to be accurate, and then implement a Forced Regen routine so that we could regenerate our DPFs when we know we'll be doing a trip that will fulfil the parameters needed to get the EGTs to the requires levels.D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

The forced regen procedure is not yet implemented but will be added in time. Keep in mind that the same conditions need to be present for a forced or automatic regeneration to begin.
Possibly a stupid question, but if you adjust the rolling diameter of the tyres will it effect the mpg?Mark.

I'm not sure how these look-up values are used on the D3. I would guess that they will change the satnav when in DR mode and the true reading of the speedo and the odometer. As the odometer is used as part of the MPG calls this may have an effect on MPG. There may be a better way of tweaking the MPG display but there is not an easy to adjust parameter like there is on the D4.
Next time I have a D3 and some time I will have a look.
