Still worth popping off your bumper cover and having a look, just in case anything was squished.

I witnessed a eurobox rear end a late plate D2 about 10 years ago - what a mess, D2 looked unmarked
The benefit of a chassis over a monocoque and subframes I guess

That Is why I like big cars and now proud owner of D3 I feel even safer.
We had a similar situation 2 years ago between our Vectra estate with fixed towbar and unfortunate distracted Almera driver who rear ended us when we we were stationery. Almera was rite off and our car had scratched bumper and tail gate. We will never drive Corsa or equivalent!!

From having an accident I would say that's a result for you. The car got it tight in comparison

I had a peogot 305 go into the back of my old D2 a few years ago. My rear bumper had a scratch and little else, the Peugot on the other hand was totally trashed, bonnet, front bumper, lights, wings and was probably a write off. I say probably as pulled over to swap details and the scrote drove off at speed with much of his front end dragging on the floor.
Didn't even have time to take his reg. as the main bit I saw was his front end which wasn't too pretty.
Love these old buses.

Yeah it's a joke isn't it....that's the part on a car designed to take a few knocks front and back to "protect" the main body of the car,and it costs an arm and a leg....
My wife has destroyed more than her fair share of rear bumpers over the years, and it's still never fails to annoy me how much they cost, considering what they're there for.........
.....and breathe....."Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
