Not keen on the posh side of the wheel facing the mud and ruts either. About the only plus is not having to install a tyre valve extender.
I thought the MY2016 also had a cover fitted to protect the alloy wheel Cheers Ian

The MY16 has what looks like a plastic protector to supposedly protect the wheel face, no idea how tough it is nor if it can easily be ripped off to get your hands through the wheel and get the cable either.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Slightly
Had a tug at a MY16 wheel protector today definitely not to be considered in any way a security measure its just wappy plastic. Its clearly designed just to protect the surface of the alloy wheel from road crud and chips nothing else. It was flexible and i reckon if you wanted to you could rip it of in a jiffy.

Hmm...that could be misinterpreted tbh....if that's being labelled "spare wheel protector" then they are absolutely correct and well within their rights.....but I would guess to most people a "spare wheel protector" suggests some sort of anti-theft device ?
What does the current brochure describe it as ?"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
