Unmarked Irish Paramedic D3 |
|
Passed an unmarked navy blue D3 in Youghal Co Cork. It was stopped outside a house next to an ambulance, it had blue flashing lights built into the front grill. The back was open and it appeared to be fully kitted out with shelving and medical "stuff". Sorry to be so vague but I didn't stop.
Anyone know anymore about it, how many are there in Ireland and who's is it? 1993 Defender 110 300tdi - many mods

Why are Paramedics in unmarked vehicles ...what do they do ?...hide behind bushes then when they see you coming they flag you down and take your blood pressure 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

There will be another D3 in Ireland, next month - coming to Dingle, via Rosslare for a week's holiday on 17 Aug. Never been to Ireland before and looking forward to it - can someone fix the weather?!! I was taught to be cautious.

If the weather isn't fixed by then, I think there'll be a mass emigration! You'll be passing a mile from my place on your way btw.
BTW, tip for anyone coming to here from the UK - do not get diesel in the filling station just off the boat in Rosslare - it might seem cheap to you guys, but you'll get it 10c a litre cheaper if you drive to New Ross around 20 miles from Rosslare on the N25. Either get it at the Emo service station after you cross the bridge and around a mile out of town, or as you're approaching the town, turn right onto the N30, and go over there half a mile and you'll see a Tesco! Thanks for the information - will certainly bear that in mind - I'm all for saving cash. I'm certainly putting the miles on the new toy - 6500 since end of March and another long drive to Dingle and back! (All because I won't fly!!) Will keep an eye out for you (I haven't seen another disco3 sticker yet!!) I was taught to be cautious.

Harlequin , you'll have a ball . Dingle and all that surrounding area is breathtaking.Youll only be passing a few miles from me too.Make sure and travel off the beaten track and take in the Cork coastline on your way.Yawlboy is from around that area and could give you some pointers. The pund to euro rate is certainly in your favour aswell.

As you pass through Cork you'll certainly need all your Disco's off roading abilties - thats just on the main road (N25) - especially through the village of Castlemartyr. My father-in-law swears the roads in Kenya are better.
I'd recommend you visit Kinsale for seafood at least once. My favorite place for views is the sheepshead peninsula, especially if the sun is shining. 1993 Defender 110 300tdi - many mods
