How long does it take to deliver a Disco 3 |
|
The boat carrying my new Disco 3 arrives on Friday and I can't wait any longer - I orderd in the first week of March. How long does it take get from the dock into my hands - has anyone had any experience of this? How long should I expect to wait from here?
Can't wait to get behind the wheel and take it for a trip to see what it can do.
Thanks

depends how many lunches and excuses not to work the wharfies come up with, about three years I think.
I had mine about two weeks after the supposed docking, being in Sydney Id say 1-2 weeks.

Depends how desperate you are to get behind the wheel. I ordered early december and took delivery 2nd week of may. Also depends on your dealer. Mine was on the same boat as pbhawkin and he got his within the week.

Well after months of lurking on the site finally picked up the Disco on Monday and felt the need to join. As mine is a standard TDSE was surprised to see it was manufactured 05/07 and complianced in Australia 06/07. I only had the order in a few weeks before it was ready. Hate to say it to those waiting but it is great to drive.

You can be lucky and get a D3 which is "in stock" that fits what you want without needing to have it specially ordered from the factory.
Most of us have probably waited 6 months or more. I waited even longer because at the time of wanting to buy one they only existed on the internet with spy shots etc... From the time I really got to place the order it was 5 months without ever seeing one in the metal. I only got to drive one after the first shipment landed at the Dealers place a few weeks before seeing mine in the metal. It was a very exciting but sleepless time.

We were too impatient, and were lucky to get one with all that we wanted (except for the rear diff lock) in a demo model - that was very compellingly priced... so we drove it away 3 days after signing paperwork
Regardless of the wait, you'll love it! Maybe even more because of the wait?

We were lucky. Didn't want rear air and all in stock had it. Dealer found one at another dealers with rear locker and adaptive lights, he did a swap for a RRS they wanted these extras were cheaper than the rear air and jst what we wanted. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I ordered rear air and rear diff lock - in July 2006. The ship arrived on 12/12 and there were delays at quarantine for inspections - probably from all the imports for Christmas. It was delivered on 29/12/2006. Yes - it was a long wait - but well worth it.
Cheers.

Well I placed my order just beforethe apparent cut-off for this year delivery - May 15 for delivery mid October. Appparently any later and it wouldn't have been till next year!!!
Must say I'm getting pretty impatient now. My off-road modified Pajero sold about 3 weeks ago (first weekend that I advertised it) and I'm using a friend's borrowed Kia (yuk - but at least it's wheels). Have had to drop into a dealer's a couple of times just to have a sit in one.
To PCH who ordered without even seeing one - that's pretty gutsy!
Cheers.
