Debadging your Discovery
originally i wanted to play with the words Discovery on the front of my car. I wanted to put Very Disco but when i took the badges off, the car looked very handsome. in fact i think it now looks like a custom job with some extra BHP!
anyone have an advice regarding a chip? Ive been told i can get around 300bhp. Anyone done this?

I like it badgeless
Re "chipping", I had my D3 remapped, but the only time I'm ever in a hurry is normally always when I'm on my own (business use) and I've found the D4 to have ample performance. Especially the 8 speed.
My first call would be to Pete Bell at BAS if I did want more power though 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

It looks really good
I've asked the dealer to de-badge it before I take delivery, if only to put LAND ROVER back where it belongs!2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

The more I look at this change, the better it looks. Think that I may leave my bonnet letter free now too 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

To me it looks like a half finished bodyshop repair
If you like it that's all that matters

hmmm... tend to agree ... to me, it doesn't look right for a Land Rover to be missing any lettering on the bonnet/hood.....but each to their own of course
I would have preferred "Land Rover' on the front of mine rather than 'Discovery' - I'm not confident I would get the old ones off easily .... but more especially getting the new lettering straight and spaced apart correctly.... 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

Though I'm very happy to remove lettering without damaging paintwork (heat up with hot air paint stripper on half power setting and lever off with credit card when nice and warm), I'll be getting the dealer to do it as part of the deal!
The LAND ROVER lettering can be bought in either black, grey, silver or chrome for around £10; they come with a stencil to tape onto the bonnet and you simply place the letters in the holes in the stencil to make sure that they are all in the right place
Once I get mine, I'll get a set of letters and then experiment to see what it looks like, with and without, by using some blu tack. If I prefer it with, I'll stick them on permanently. If I don't, I'll stick them on the garage wall 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

regarding taking the lettering off. on ebay for £6.99 i bought 4 scrappers that don't damage paintwork here is this link for them
. also make sure you do it when it is cold as the sticky stuff comes off easier and then just get from Halfords some choke and Carburetor cleaner as it then just comes off. of course wipe after with water but i have done this on all my cars and it has never damaged the paintwork.
i see your point saying it looks like a bodyshop repair. also when you buy the letters, they come already spaced with a kit
hey Red, if you're in Essex, i do it for you for free of courseWhite Landcover Discovery SE Tech
