DISCO3.CO.UK Monthly Photographic Competitions
I'd like to run an idea by you all, please hear me out and tell me what you think.
Having just completed a 10 week Photography Course, and today started a 1 week qualification Photography course at a local university, I would like to bring some of this art to the Disco3 forum.
What I am prepared and hoping to put in place is a monthly competition, where a theme is set by the person in charge of that month, and members can take photos in accordance to the theme and submit them to the forum. A small prize could then be given to the winner of that month.
For example, I am happy to start the ball rolling for the month of August. I would set a theme, and then buy a prize (something little, eg. a LR keyring, mug, bottle opener or the likes… or perhaps a smaller gift + DISCO3 donation...) and I would choose the best photograph and award its owner with the prize through the post. Hopefully then, somebody would volunteer to ‘lead’ September and set a theme and buy a prize etc. and so on and so forth.
Given the quality of some of the entries to the calendar, and just general photos in galleries and posts, I know that there is talent here and hopefully this could be surfaced in a fun and awarding competition.
Opinions and thoughts on a postcard - err, post - to myself.
I'm up for it, sounds fun and , well, why not....the great thing about a D3 is it gets you to wild photogenic places! 2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

Photographic is one of those words (like shopfitters) that when you see it in your peripheral vision it reads differently.....
i was expecting something along the lines of this (but with less clothing )

It's certainly a good time for holiday pics.
