Raised air intake

My raised air intake is starting to clip the top the driver's door when that door is open. It doesn't do it every time but is starting to wear the black paintwork there. I had a look at DiscoDunc's air intake at the weekend and his has a few mm more clearance. I assumed it has just loosened off a little over time and might just need the fixing to the bodywork retightened. Any ideas on the best way to do this??

An allen key or two should do the trick? If it's rubbing at the top then a 3mm key will undo the head of the RAI (3 x black allen bolts), exposing the bracket that mounts to the A-Pillar. Check and tighten the bracket where it meets the A-Pillar and where it is attached the RAI then put the head back on. Bob's your mother's brother. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

........unless the rivnut on the A-Pillar wasn't seated properly. But people don't forget to crimp those, do they? Wink I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Wait until dark then go for a walk outside. Bound to trip over it that way. Universal law of wotsit, you know, sod. Anything you've lost will make it's way under your feet the moment the lights are out. Works on keys, kids, cats and cars without fail. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Job done! Took the top off and there is a bolt with some wiggle room so losened it off, pushed it forward couple of mm then tightened it up. Piece of cake!
