Rosen Rear Entertainment, No Sound?

I can't get any sound from the Rosen system in my new D4, it won't play through the wireless headphones or if I plug a set in, no sound whatsoever!

I've noticed that in the manual it says the wireless headphones should be dual channel, but the ones that came with the car aren't, so this might be the problem, though I would assume that if that was the case then there should be sound through the plugged in units?

Any help would be appreciated, I've seen that you can buy new dual channel units but I'd rather not spend the £45 to find that it makes no difference!

Thanks for any input.

Hmm, OK no response, I'm assuming this is going to be something I'll need to have sorted through the warranty Sad

Yeah, it's not new it's a 2010 but it's new to me, I just thought it would be worth asking on here in case someone could point me towards an easy fix before going through the hassle of trying to sort in through warranty, the supplying dealer is some 300 miles away.

Which Rosen system is it?

I don't think the AV 7500 that I have allows headphones to be plugged in, the headphone jack looking point is a input I think

Are you switching the headphones on? Batteries working etc

Have you tried the radio function, tune in the radio to the frequency you set on screen?

If none of these then I would assume wrong headphones (mine have a A/B switch) or there is a loose cable, or broken cable

Hi and thanks for your reply.

I've just checked and they're the AV7500, I assumed it was a headphone socket! Embarassed

Headphones are on and battery's working, the light comes on on the power button and volume on full, on one set I get white noise.

I've not tried the radio function, I'll have a go at that tomorrow.

Good point and you're probably right, I think I'll have to bite the bullet and buy a pair of dual channel headphones before investigating into the wiring etc, I'll ring and speak to the place I bought it from first though.

when you are hearing the white noise, does this disappear if the screen is shielded with something, so you block the IR senders they screen has on the front, (you can see them as the typical IR red glow)

I had a issue with no sound on one screen, looking at my system I found a cable had broken,

Each screen had a set of wires that drop down the backs of the seats, join another cable which plugs into a central modual, this is what transfers the picture from one screen to the other if you select that option

I found waggling a cable at the modual brought the sound back and forth. I purchased a new cable and this solved it.

The control modual looks like this

The company I got parts from was MRX-24-7

I know mine is older so may be different. Have you set it to headphones on screen or is it trying to feed the radio?

At the end of the cables coming out the back of the cars seats is where you'll find the module, they'll both go to it, but the installer will have placed it wherever they found best

The wires are normally 1x grey 1xblack about 5mm diameter

Sorry to go slightly off topic but related. I have recently purchased a D4 with these screens fitted. I have a games remote, another remote but no ear phones.
Are the ear phones available to be purchased separately?

Thank you
