@Dunc, Did similar on the Marquenterra trip last year, the one side was completely flattened.
I got a much newer (12k miles) replacement unit from the breakers yard near Parkend in the Forest of Dean, from memory it cost me around £300. Just make sure you get like for like as there was a pipe diameter change along the way, the earlier models got bigger pipes to breath through.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Dunc,
So the night before you were saying how wonderful the exhaust note was on your old D3, then you accidently drive over a stump and now you have sport exhaust
