Arghh - just a little more care |
|
Driving down an access lane today and someone's rear seat passenger, child, (in a d3) opened the door into my discovery rear door. Seems to only have left a light scuff - no obvious signs of anything else.
Obviously we got their details - obviously i want it fixed in the most hassle free way, but i cant really be bothered and certainly dont want to go an insurance route. i half wonder if i could take it out myself.
Any thoughts, tips or ideas - we are probably talking a 7inch scuff on the arch of the rear door, no dent, scratch etc Mike

Thanks, i was going to get that - looked good, but i thought (at lunch time) to try normal polish. So i gave it a good polish with normal polish and it got it out, washed it and checked and its gone, so i repolished it and i think it will save the guy his insurance (hopefully happy when i tell him)...only because he owns a D3 did i bother. two weeks ago - someone did the same to me. Obviously a kid and nothing too serious although after cleaning and polishing there is a very small dent remaining that will need pulling. I was fuming but SWMBO told me not to be so precious about it.
Two days later - my youngest threw open the disco's rear door and took a chunk out of the nice new Golf parked next to it. Unfortunately it was my wife's golf - I wisely kept stum while she ranted.
I hope our local dent-man does bulk deals. Also Gone : MY14 D4 SDV6 HSE : Barolo Black + Almond

my dent is quite slight - only really shows when looking along the door at a tight angle... and only when very clean (which is not often). Otherwise it would go unnoticed.
However, I've had several small bumps like yours in the past that have just polished out without any bother. Also Gone : MY14 D4 SDV6 HSE : Barolo Black + Almond
