Seems a little harsh, about right for suspension bushes, well if the dealer diagnoses them that is, mine where done under warranty, asked them to do the rack seals at the same time, (the oil seals on the steering rack are a known problem). other than that look fwd to many happy miles of reliable motoring. well on the bright side at least i wasn't on a cliff face track with a disabled wife and 3 greman shepherds miles from any where which is where ill be next week
the oil seals on the steering rack are a known problem
Is this a problem for the Disco4 only, or both 3 & 4?
I ask as I haven't heard of it being a known problem before.

I would think most 4x4 would start giving theses sort of problems at 270,000 still a pain when it happens thoughD4

My last D4 was diagnosed at its MOT with play in the front suspension bushes at 27,000mls and the dealer health check came back saying front and rear needed replaced.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

By 2 years and 28k or so my D3 had spent a couple of months in the dealer for extra TLC. By comparison my 5 series had spent two extra days in the shop (replace idrive unit) over the same time. You buy a LR for capability, not reliability. If you expect what are normal levels of reliability for other makes you're either going to be very lucky or very disappointed.
Just my opinion, other opinions are out there.

I suppose the trade off for good ride and handling is more sofisticated less robust suspension bushes. Just a shame they normally cut and chuck the whole wishbone to get it off. The x5 is very similar from what I have read.D4
Touching wood, can I just say that mine has 33k on it, purchased it at 8k, six months old, apart from a Compressor a month after I bought it, it has been faultless.
Warranty will be up in November

I'm lucky then. 2008, 93k done, no breakdowns, no big bills, and apart from the 7 year service / belts / oil pump change (2 days work) it's spent minimal time on the ramps... just detailed today, looks fabulous, I love it.____

I think your car must have Friday wishbones, there's no way they should need replacing after 2 years or 27K miles, should be looking far closer to 100k/5 years or more before needing to be replacedJoined the BMWX5 45e group

yes mate Dave T spot on i was in the trade for years 27,000 miles should be unacceptable for any manufacturer i have a 2014 model as a replacement till mine is fixed its done 8,000 miles and the bushes knock on that to and its not a trade off if the power steering goes at 27,000 miles its bad parts power steering is no different to any other vehicles power steering does the same job my range rover classic has never let me down and the daughters freelander the same perfect yes the d4 is better than the d3 where bushes are concerned so LR ane aware of an issue so surely they should use stiffer bushes or look at the material used poly bush comes to mind

My one worked hard, I had it a year, a traveller (to be polite) owned it before me and it lived a hard life, so I'm not surprised it's bushes were shot.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green
