DISCO Permagrin
Ah the joys of owning a Disco 3 never cease! After all these rather grim posts on reliability issues, fuel filters, poor servicing etc I was starting to get depressed. Well this weekend reassured me why I love my disco so much. There is nothing better than a good old muck about in waterlogged forestry roads (seeerious cape winter storm this weekend), especially when your mate in his Pajero gets totally and absolutely stuck in a hole that is underwater and he is lying on his belly! A snatch strap and a 2,7 ton disco, mud and ruts, low range, wheels totally underwater, bit of gas from the 220KW petrol V8 and VIOLA! Pajero free, disco owner chuffed!

Hi heine. I have voted now. I had waited a bit as I only have 6000km in the clock. I have had no problems at all.

Deondef....... you couldn't have made me happier. I could sense your flagging faith in the Landini and despair at your "dud" purchase!! ...., but the truth is the mother ROCKS! It's a kick ass vehicle, at home in the mud and dust as well as cruisin' the streets. Don't lose the faith, don't go to the dark side..., stay in the light.... Stay with the Disco you'll be hauling your mates out of the mud many times.. ha ha

The "dead Pajero" stuck on its belly.
OK, OK, I hear all of you howling in protest at the site I attached the snatch strap to the vehicle to be recovered. It looks bad, but it was NOT attached to the tow hitch but to the chassis mounting. I am not keen on being killed by a towball projectile.
Luckily the beautiful Landini has a proper recovery point to which the other side of the strap is attched!
