Front Diff Replaced for £50 - Thanks Warranty Direct |
|
I have just had my Front Diff replaced under warranty with WD.
Disco_Mikey confirmed my fear Front Diff = Dead!
After a short phone call WD agreed to the work to be conducted.
Great service - Mike was honestly priced. They bit his arm off!
My excess was £50 .... drop in the ocean for £1393.25 job!
Well Done Mike! A great (yet frustrating) job as always! 2016 D4 Landmark

Out of interest, had you the oil changed at 5 years and did WD ask to see evidence of this? I was just wondering as my own is now over 5 years and I was going to change the oil myself but then thought WD might check if the service schedule was followed and expect a receipt from a VAT reg garage to prove this?

Cheers! I must have looked at the wrong service schedule document. Do no harm to change it then.

Wow 150K intervals seem so long.
Due to the Diffs failing in US Disco 3's and Free Landers everyone that knows this has been changing the diff fluid.
I changed my diff fluid twice in 3.5 years. first time at 65K, then at about 90K using BG gear oil. In the first change at about 65K, we discovered that the front diff was not breathing properly. I had the breather pipe unclogged. At 70K the front seal was leaking (had the seal replaced and new oil covered by my warrantee then). At about 90K I was on my 4th time crossing the US from LA to NY so I wanted to know how they where holding up and had the diff fluid done again.
