Special Programs Off - While Driving On Motorway ?

Just got back from Hull .On the way there i had the cruise control set to about 80 mph ...all of a sudden it died and i lost all power ...the display said special programs off .!!!!

I pulled over and restarted the car ..all alright for about 15 miles then it did it again , this time i just turned the key off /back on and then bump started the car .

All ok

Then 3 times on the way home it happened again ...spookely enough one of the times was nearly the exact place it happened on the way there !!

Last 40 miles home it has been ok ...is there anything i should be checking ...or shall i call LR assist out ?

Of to Scotland on Wednesday so can give it another long run then

Mine has done similar a few times, usually when I have been stationary, come to set off and there's no power, switch off and back on again and is fine,

Get yer stealer to check it out - mine did this 'dangerously' a couple of times in the first few weeks of ownership - software patches applied and a sensor changed - never done it again since.

Oh, oh, can you imagine this being the voiceover for the satnav start up screen! I would live in a cave for 10 years if this could be done.

Sounds like a problem with a wheel speed sensor or a connection to one - was it raining?

No supprisingly not ...first nice day we have had ...perhaps it got used to the rain Whistle

I did change my wheels over from offroad to normal on Sunday , but i cant see if that would of caused anything?

Its due for a service in about 1500 miles so i will mention it to them then ..unless it does it on the way to Scotland tommorow.

The only issue that could have been caused by changing wheels is if some ferrous material became lodged around the wheel sensor causing erroneous readings the MAF sensor issue can cause this problem too but usually results in reduced performance even after a restart

Update

Well ,went to Scotland yesterday and it happened a total of 14 times on the trip.

Dosen't seem to make any difference if the cruise control is on or off.

Had LR assist out this morning and the only error code showing is "Supercharger /turbo overboost intermittant problem"

Any one know what thats about ?

LR assist has run some new software through the car , but until tommorow i wont have chance to test it on the motorway ...it seams fine normal driving ...just happends around 75MPH on the motorway.
