Windscreen washer leak
My 2006 D3 has developed a leak from the windscreen washer, as evidenced by a pool of water on the concrete floor of the car shed, front left hand (passenger side) corner.
It's definitely the washer fluid, as it's empty, and if I refill it, it drips out over the next few hours.
I need to take front bumper off to see exactly where the leak is coming from.
I've had the bumper off a couple of years ago when I retrofitted fog lights into the front bumper.
Mine doesn't have headlamp washers. My question is, while I've got the bumper removed, is it worth retrofitting headlamp washers?
If I decide to upgrade, do I need to update the washer pump and reservoir bottle? Obviously I would also need to buy tubing and jets.
For the jets is there a template on the inside of the bumper? When I fitted the fog lamps, there was a template on the inside of the bumper that I cut out with Dremel tool.
Also do I need to activate CCF (I have GAP IID).
I need to price it up to see if cost of parts is and whether its worth it. Are the headlamp washers very effective?
I'll see if my washer leak is a simple fix, e.g. perished tube. If its just the tubing, do I need genuine part, of can I use high pressure tubing? Anyone know what sort of pressure is involved.
Thanks Blake

Personally I would jack up the left front wheel.
Put axel stand in
Remove wheel arch liner at the front, and this should gain access to the pump and tubes.
May make life easier to remove wheel.
If it's not the grommet or pipe etc, then yes, you are probably correct that the bumper may need to come off to change the tank.
As for headlight washers.....
In the UK we have to have them if we have xenon headlights. Don't know what your rules are, or if you have/plan to fit them. Would probably be worth it.
Yeah if you commute in winter, then there maybe a benefit, but i'm not sure I would bother.
Knowing landrover, they probably need enabling in the CCF
Yes you would need a new tank that has the area for the headlight pump to fit

If you do take the front bumper off (may not be necessary to fix this leak), there are guide lines inside the front bumper to aid cutting out for h/lamp washer jets. I fitted h/lamp wash to mine as I did fit xenon’s, and we have far worse winter conditions than you, no doubt.D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

I've found the source of the leak. Seam on the washer reservoir.
I've had to remove front bumper to remove reservoir.
What's best way to repair? I was thinking either PVC pipe glue and patch, or use my soldering iron to melt the seam together again.
Any suggestions/ thoughts welcome
P.S. I've decided not to retro fit headlight washers. Cost of 2nd hand set of xenon headlamps from auto dismantler too expensive.
Thanks Blake

I would be using soldering iron.
Then something (sealer)over the top for good measure

Soldering iron 1st then ct1 over the top it's a pretty common issue iv just done my sport but managed to pull the wheel arch liner out of the way just enuff to seal the seat with ct1.
If it goes again its a new bottle

Thanks.
Unfortunately I can't find CT1 in any of our hardware stores in NZ. I'll solder and try a silicone type sealant over top.

Just smear some silicone over the repair. i wouldn't bother with the washer jets, not having wipers on them makes them pretty useless.

Thanks Lonerangie.
Looking forwards to your next post on the adaptive cruise control retrofit.
