Supplementary/Complimentary oil change .... No Chance...
Suggested to the dealership that as my brand new car has had a few issues - maybe a 'complientray oil change at 1,800 miles.... just to help the car out on its 'run in period' - would be a bit of compensation. Yeah no problem.... then I got home and thought.... this is going to mess up the system .... they will register it as a service and my service plan etc will all be thrown out!

How did you manage to confirm that would be the case?2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as โsecondโ cars ๐
2021 to date: Hinckley built โ14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built โ14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!
(One of only two known to exist in the world!)
& is the start if the preservation campaign - take it
Or ask if it can be referred to reduce the cost of the first service...
If it's FOC take it...BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Any oil change, by them, will be recorded as a service according the dealership .... so I've asked them not to bother...... It will just have to wait until its first proper service ...... I don't fancy trying it myself ....
The dealership looked surprised that I asked and said it really doesn't need it nowadays... I know, I said but even so..... anyway thats that....
The car itself is back in the bodyshop in Exeter somewhere for them to repair the paint defect on the drivers door and not the 'wrong' door like what they did last time and still managed to leave a 'pinprick' hole in this unnecessary repair ...... and fresh scratches on the bonnet ..... I really wish I hadn't bothered and put up with the slight paint 'sag'. 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

What I did with my Defender, and will be doing now with the D4, is to get any mid-service oil changes done by my indie.
No need to inform LR, and their 'mechanics' are too dof to realise any outside work was done. --
