It's arrived
Salesman called today to say my Disco has arrived. Haven't had a chance to see it, so no pics at the moment.
I was supposed to be collecting it on Monday but it's too tight a turn around so it's looking like Tuesday.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Im in the same boat myself, I'm reluctant to pick it up before next Thursday though due to basically losing a months tax which would grind on me when the charge over £600 for it the first year, I've waited since may so a few more days won't make much difference haha

Im struggling with you lot spending 40 or 50 grand on a new motor..I earn well over the average wage..into the 90 percent of top wage earners according to gov figures and I cant afford a new disco...must be doing something wrong.

I'm not fretting. It's principle. Why should I allow it? Maybe it's because I'm so careful that I can afford these things. Oh an btw my stubborn ways won as I pick it up Wednesday an he's taxing it for a year an a week.

It all depends on where your priorities are, there will be people out there that live in £150K houses but have £50K cars. Personally I would spend that money on getting a bigger/better house.IID PRO

that's very true, but if you live on your own, then brilliant
friend of dads has done this, lives in a 2 bedroom house cost circa 90k, spent some doing it up yet bought a brand new merc at circa 50k

I don't see what you're struggling with, i earn good money, I also have a Van, Motorbike, 4 bed detached house and the wife has a brand new merc. If you can afford it then do it. I moaned about the tax as its a principle thing, first year is about £640 so why should i lose a month of that just so i can get my car 2 or 3 days early? its now worked out great as they've actually taxed it for an extra week which is what I asked for and they said they couldn't.
On another note I also saved myself a fortune yesterday on my insurance by chance, Ive taken out multi car insurance with admiral and saved loads. Am i tight? no not by any means but at times if you're frivolous with your money then it enables you to afford other luxuries.

It also means " the more you earn, the more you spend"! Swmbo & I earn what I would class as average class, house not over 120k, no credit cards @ all that.. So treated ourselves to 11k on credit for our D3, I believe we both work very hard, so why not.. But on the other hand, our outgoings aren't extortionate.
