No power to fuel pump.

Can anyone put their ideas or experiences forward,

Been having issues with intermittent fault, and in tank fuel pump not running, i had it out, cleaned, put back together and tested with all fuel pipes attached and bingo, it powered up, sent air then diesel to bleed valve.

Out this morning to raise tank back into place and again, not working.

I've hard wired the pump direct to battery and its working, connect back to car via loom and nothing.

Checked the 25 amp fuse and nothing on ignition.

any advice gratefully received before the ceremonial burning by crazed Disco owner.

Ok. Bit of progress, just in case anyone else is having similar problem.

Put all the fuel pipes and harness back on tank, clicked the ignition, nothing.
No power at fuse.
After earlier post by Mike and Flack, I clicked ignition again an wiggled the large multi plug that sits behind the offside headlamp, the pump kicked in and power at fuse, diesel at the bleed valve.

I've taken the plug apart, it was a little grimy, sprayed up with WD40 and inspected, no broken wires that I could see, , and everything seems to be working as it should. I'll check again in morning, fingers crossed.

Might be an idea to work out which wires at the connector supply the pump with power so if the plug does pack up you can piggyback a wire to get you home.
Contact spray or contact cleaner is way better then wd40.

United Kingdom 2008 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Lux Auto Unknown ColourDiscovery 3

Good morning all,

I've currently got an issue with the supply to the relay of the low pressure fuel pump,

Putting a live to the fuse fires the pump up,

Putting a live to pin 5 of the relay fires the pump up,

When Putting a link across from pin 3 to pin 5 there's no power to the pump although there's intermittent 12v on pin 3.

Any advice?
