FBH - few questions
Sorry for asking what has probably been covered dozens of times but I've done some searches and can't find simple answers due to the volume of posts on the matter
1. FBH running after engine off - noticed when I park up (engine at normal temp) the FBH stays running for a short while after I get out and lock the car, guess this is normal but wonder why as it seems unnecessary?
2. Timed/remote operation 11MY HSE - in simple terms what are my options here? There is no menu option for setting a timer on the dash screen that I can see, can this be enabled and if so what sort of cost? Then for remote operation, what's the verdict on the options available and again what sort of price would I be looking at?
Thanks in advance

It is normal for it to run after switching off as it is purging itself
Remote option there are a few lads on here that can do it I had mine done by Pete at BAS in York but there are others around here that can do it.
You will need an antenna remote fob and it enabling in the CCF MY18 D5 HSE LUX😎

Can the timed option be enabled via the CCF as I presume that's a cheaper option?

Give Green Oval at Gildersome a ring. They are site sponsors, and are happy to deal with any enquiry over the phone.

Hi,
I think the remote option is well worth having if you can we have used that more than the timed.
Yesterday tea time at a friends house we had been at most of the day pressed the remote while sat in front of the fire then asked "what you up to" "oh just warming the car up we will get off in 15 min or so "
straight out of the house into a lovely warm car with all the windows nice and clear, sure I could hear them saying "smug git" as we drove away
still had the heated seats on as well though Transit! 2019

Sorry for hijack... But I noticed in timed climate display window, the option manual heat and manual vent buttons. I try the manual heat button and it stays on for a second or 2 and switches off. I need to activate the system via the remote it seems.
Then later when I switched car off and on again and hit the manual heat it stated lit and the system activated ...
Any clues on how the manual heat works?

Get yourself a IID tool and do it yourself along with some other bits, a couple of fault codes later and it's paid for it's self
Then when you come to sell the D4 you can sell the tool and get 2/3rds of your original outlay back
Activated mine with the IID and then bought the remote from Harwoods on eBay
The IID is great at reading faults - so far have replaced a faulty heated wing mirror, fuel filter housing kit and now the compressor is playing up !D4 2010 HSE Santorini Black

... I understand - looking at the 'old' brochure this FBH is an optional extra? I have a July MY16 HSE - so I'm assuming it doesn't have it. So - is the FBH there just not enabled?2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

Pretty certain all UK D4 have the FBH fitted as standard, like the D3.
It's the timer/remote that is an option (D4)06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
