Thoughts on this D4?

Wasn't planning to change for a little while but spotted this one.

http://www.derbytradecars.co.uk/used-LAND%...ire-767705

It's pretty much exactly what I wanted colour/spec wise and isn't that far away from me. Seems very low miles considering its had two owners though?
Honestly, what do others think?

I agree, mega deals out there at the moment if you negotiate hard.
Depends if you want all the Luxury toys, it's still £41k and going to be 3 years old in Sept.
Good luck either way.
Thumbs Up

Having a brand new car is less important to me ultimately than its specification. If I'm spending upwards of 40k there are some things the car simply must have, a new graphite doesn't have all of those things; specified with as many of them as you still can it lists just shy of 52k. The used HSE Lux at 41k is pushing my budget anyway, I don't think any amount of haggling is going to get 52 even close to 41 is it, that's a 20% discount needed?

That seems a bit steep price wise, also a bit concerning 3 years old nearly and two owners but only 13K miles, seems a bit strange to me

The price is around 2k less than a Dealer price for same model and age , you can get a Dealer vehicle cheaper bu with about 25k on the clock
There are some 2014 models around that price but high miles which isnt a bad thing considering the cost of a warranty to cover any wear and tear after 90 days for peace of mind .

It appears to be a 2014 MY, 63 plate, registered in 2014. That must mean it was registered between January and March 2014, so in anyone's book its just over two years old isn't it? Also means nearly a year of original warranty left to sort any issues? Or am I trying to talk myself into it Laughing

Agree with Russell though, 2 owners for such low miles seems odd.

Dealer demo plus one private owner?

Personally would look at why this car is in a trade car site & not on a LR dealer forecourt - suggests to me that there's something wrong with it that a dealer doesn't want to retail it. If part exchanged to a dealer they'd retail that, even if p/ex'd to another brand they'd retail it too. Can't help thinking that this could be a damaged vehicle put to auction, rebuilt & now being sold by a trader.

If it was me I'd stick with what I have & keep an eye open for a car with the right spec at a LR dealer - their warranties are worth paying the extra for piece of mind & back up of trained mechanics.

Fair enough, I'm the opposite so a new Graphite at £44k is much more appealing than a used Lux model for similar money. Looks a nice motor, but they all are 8)

Just my opinion, but if spending £40k is a stretch, and it certainly is for me, then I would value core reliability over extras. I have bought a new Graphite so I get the three year warranty, 5 year service pack and knowledge of its history. I could have had lots of extras on a 2 year old model for similar money, but I can't afford to have any major mechanical issues over the next few years while I pay off the loan.

I also wonder why this ace looking car is not being sold through a dealer.

Thanks for replies which are of course all helpful (and show that we all value different things in a new motor). As suggested I'm going to pass on this one, I'm in no hurry.......

It was first registered on 28th Feb 14 so missed being 14 plate by a whisker and only 2 years 2 months old Thumbs Up
