Turbochip Done First impressions |
|
Hi All,
I met with the amiable Mr Tyler today to have my Disco Turbo Chipped. All I can say is the car behaves completely different. The difference could be felt immediately the car was far more responsive much smoother and quieter.I can pull off now from a junction and know I will make it! In addition previous to this my best mpg was 26.5 but returning home the car was showing 31.3mpg. I'm told it takes a bit of time for the gearbox to adjust to the extra power etc so things can only get better from here. Anoble if your reading I would have no hesitancy in recommending this modification as it makes a good car a great car. Anyway I am off for another spin! Thanks Mr Tyler!
Cheers

Hi Discowex,
Yeah very happy theres been a few sonic booms alright lol! Good thing was Chris was able to tell me that all software updates etc had been done and more interestingly that I might need a new battery so sent an email to dealer to look at that when shes in for valet at the end of month!
Cheers

I am reading with interest Googsy! It sounds like a no brainer and has to be done, plus I seem to only average around 27mpg (manual) at the moment so the remap would make sense just to improve mpg....out of interest did you bother to tell the insurance company? I am thinking that if a LR dealer is not going to detect it then those guys dont have a chance either....or am i being naive?
Thanks

Anoble
No I did'nt no point as it cant be detected unless driven by somebody who knows. When was the last time someone from your insurance company asked for a spin in your car?
