IIDTool and Apple watch?
Hi Everyone
After weeks of delay, today’s UPS shipment consisted of this new toy:

We’ve made an App that is still in its embryonic state for the moment and it shows one possible use:

The Apple watch used in conjunction with an IIDTool BT / Pro will be able to provide convenience features as well as diagnostic aid. In time, the watch App will become an integral part of our line of products.
We have a few ideas in store and we would like to know your interests and ideas towards integrating this new technology on today’s tools and cars. Any IIDTool BT /Pro users who have purchased or are planning on purchasing a watch? We will of course need a few beta testers in a not so distant future...
I think, for now, I'll be sticking with my old Apple Pocket Watch..
But it looks promising, any innovation is good.

In principle I like the idea, my biggest concern is that the location of OBD2 port means that the iid tool is very vulnerable to damage from being kicked if left in situ permanently. Possibly some sort of adaptation kit to move the OBD2 port might make it less vulnerable and help reduce the theft problem.

TPMS info,
Panic alarm,
Tailgate unlock,
MPG history
Service reminder schedule....
To add to that list, remote control of the windows, and even more so, the sunroof would be nice.
The issue I can see is that leaving the IID in the car is less than ideal, and alternatively, having to plug it in each time would somewhat negate the "convenience" side of things! Not sure what could be done to improve this?

There are very cheap cable available to allow the IID to be plugged in behind the knee panel, so moving it from harms way is easy enough Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Isn't this just a 'mirror' of the phone/iPad set-up, so all of the same rules apply. i.e. Ignition on, tool plugged in, and watch/phone/iPad within Bluetooth range.....

I thought I read somewhere that it was not advised to leave the IIDTool installed for a long period of time.RLD Sump Guard
