Disco 5 or concept car?

The revamped Coventry Transport museum had this in it but I couldn't see a label to indicate exactly what it was.

It says Discovery on the front but is this a production vehicle? It seems about the size of a D3 with 7 seats.

Discovery Vision Concept which is pretty close to what the D5 is expected to look like.

As above its the Discovery Vision Concept, the D5 won't be too far away from that.

Its on colossal wheels and tyres, thats why it's sitting higher. Look at the Disco in the background for normal wheel size.

With very little rear overhang compared to the camo pictures posted recently.

They have got to be kidding, what a total mess, looks like an Evoke on steroids, what are they thinking about, certainly not the aesthetics, I'll stick with the Discovery 3 or 4 concept thanks.............. Rolling with laughter

Looks exactly like a 2011 ford explorer only with a side air intake and discovery badge. Look at the c pillar, very same!

Thats because the bodywork is actually the same basic design. The 2017 D5 is actually the 2011 Ford Explorer. Lol. I saw it last year in California and its actually quite handsome and not too bad for a 2011 design.

If I were running Ford Id be engineering the Explorer for RHD and undercutting the D5 by 10k - I think they'd make a mint...

D4 XS MY12 Orkney Grey - nice!
996 turbo cab - a dream come true
VXR220 - Epic Track Car
D2 - V8 - Agricultural bankruptcy but what fun! - Long gone but missed

Thats the Edge - it looks like the worst kind of soft, soft roader to me.

The Explorer looks quite a bit better imho - quite chunky although nothing like a 'proper' 4x4 like the D4.

What's that gonna do for perceived D5 value and sales in the US, a premium imported brand that looks the same as a down home Ford?

I don't dislike it but the Disco, whatever generation, has previously had a very distinctive and characteristic look.
