Hi. I have edited this post for clarity. Earlier I installed the Bluetooth music streaming module from African-Outdoor.com. When it didn't seem to work I was looking for help but this was actually due to my oversight by not installing a needed fuse. After I installed the fuse, the module is streaming music via BT from my iPhone 6+.
In the past I had used both Bluetooth and WiFi-based receivers in tandem with the LR Auxiliary input jack (as Narpy suggests), but each had its shortcomings for me. With a Kinivo BTC450 I needed to power cycle the device after each BT phone call before it would stream music again and with the AirEnabler for Apple AirPlay over WiFi, I grew tired of the needed settings changes each time I entered the vehicle. Neither of those solutions worked with the track advance/repeat steering wheel buttons.
Now I have what I have long been seeking: native handsfree BT speakerphone using the builtin LR equipment with seamless wireless BT music streaming and full functionality of all the steering wheel buttons for volume, track forward/reverse, mode, start/end call, etc.
The photo shows that I pulled the factory radio to install the African Outdoor module. It wasn't too bad. The challenge was eeking out space for the wire harnesses-- a friend gave me a tip and I ended up taping them up in a hollow up behind the Nav screen.
Good luck! Any questions, let me know.
Hi wheeler
This sounds great!
Do you have to connect to the unit every time you gone use it or do it connect automatically ?Rolf

I'm glad to see somebody actually received one of these African Outdoor units. Sent payment 20 days ago and no updates. No response to multiple emails (to a couple addresses) and no response to inquiry's from contact links on the webpage.
I've read a few posts saying people have waited months to get one of these sent.
I did receive an email notifying me that he was waiting for a plug and would send out the unit in the next few days but this was over two weeks ago
I've RRNavdated with dimmer fix and fitted a D4 BT (thanks Adrian). Now I really need the music end.
Thanks for your post. I'm excited to get mine...hopefully.

after exhausting contact options I tried the "contact seller" option on PayPal.
He responded within minutes with an honest apology and a tracking number. Apparently he thought he had already sent my unit
Today the package left Capetown and is scheduled to arrive Tuesday the 7th!
I will update with instal and some pics Tuesday night.
Best wishes, all.

got my BT module and harness yesterday!
Took about fifteen minutes start to finish this morning to plug it in.
Kit looks sharp and harness is as tight and solid as they come. The unit is cased in a small custom ABS project box and wrapped in a nice sticker with contact info labeled clearly.
So far the unit works exactly as described. After about thirty seconds the unit will auto pair to your device without the need for code input. You will see two devices paired on your phone. The 'Land Rover'
(or whatever you named it) and "BT_AUDIO_36". Future pairings with same device are seemingly instant.
While listening to streaming BT music in AUX and a call comes in it will mute music, ring, answer and control from wheel as normal. Quick resumption to music once call is ended.
All wheel controls work with my iPhone 5S including track forward and rewind.
The one gripe I have is volume level. Even with phone and stereo maxed, I'm about half volume and surly not loud enough to enjoy the logic 7.
To be fair, I always have this issue when connecting through AUX ports and think a small line amplifier could rectify this issue easily.
I took photos of my install along the way and will make a brief review in a couple days after low volume issue is resolved.
After a few minutes struggling with new loom I found a great place to stuff the extra bulk of wire and plugs just atop the head unit in the cavity between it and the Nav. There is a good 38mm there that will swallow it up.
Fitting the fuse was simple and routed nicely into glove box and above and around cabin filter. I used #40 as suggested by another user (thank you) which is 5A and switched to ignition. There was a spare 5A fuse in a blank cluster at bottom of fuse box.06' LR3 HSE_H/D pkg_D4 BT_Adrians RR nav mod_African Outdoor Bluetooth_GVIF_Rearview_BFGTKO2_

Great review!
You said it sounds 'every bit as good as radio"
I assume you have tested on the road with high volumes?
Is yours loud enough? Mine is almost inaudible at level 28 and at 35 seems about as loud as radio on level 16. I notice you have the SE. Do you have the HK Logic 7?
I'm beginning to think it's a preamp issue.06' LR3 HSE_H/D pkg_D4 BT_Adrians RR nav mod_African Outdoor Bluetooth_GVIF_Rearview_BFGTKO2_

Volume is probably 85-90% the same as radio source or cd source.
So yes have tested at high volumes.
I have a highline stereo not the logic 7. So its the middle range one.
Sure does, Thanks! I ordered a PHP passive pre amp http://phpaudio.jigsy.com/passive-preamp for the Bluetooth's output. Thanks to your tear down I know the pin outs of the breakout board and that saves me much time. I'll patch in-line on the blue and orange line outs. One could also use an inexpensive, powered line-amp from Http://www.amazon.com/Upbeat-Audio-T613-BNC...+amplifier and wire straight to the 3.3V on the breakout board and bail the batteries.
Seems there is a common issue with the Aux inputs and low volume. These line amps seem to solve the issue with 'direct Player/phone interfacing...hope I'll get similar results with the BT module as well.
Update:
While waiting for the PHP unit linked above, I tested this less expensive "line driver" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003LWV7...&psc=1
And it Worked! All but perfectly leveled out the source volumes and it's now capable of almost getting as loud as the tuner or CD source.
There is a bit of noise when no source is plugged in but a ground loop isolator should remedy this fairly quick.
I'll report back once I test the PHP unit. That unit should be quieter and does not require 12V feed.
Only diference is it needs its own power. Easily tapped to the AO unit.
Super simple fix for low AUX volume issue and is a fairly quick install.
I spliced in-line into the blue (right ch) and orange (lft ch) right out of the African Outdoor unit.
Tapped power from the AO unit and grounded to chassis.06' LR3 HSE_H/D pkg_D4 BT_Adrians RR nav mod_African Outdoor Bluetooth_GVIF_Rearview_BFGTKO2_

Some great info here fellas. Brubache - the bluetooth solution you've gone with is exactly what I'm looking to do on my '05 LR3. I'm currently overseas but plan to tackle this when I'm home in about a month. Here's my question - If installing the PHP Soundshocker pro as the passive pre-amp how does this integrate into the wiring harness/head unit (novice here!)? My concern is the audio output from the aux as I currently have issues with this using the rear armrest input jack.
The shocker unit installs to the harness on output side of AO unit.
