Renewal premium.
My dual car insurance renewal notice has just arrived. D4 and Mini Cooper S. Premium is up 29% on both cars. Absolutely no change from last year. Seems just a little excessive? Off to "A"Plan in the morning who last year could not get anywhere near AvIva. Will be interesting to say the least.

Interesting.
AVIVA has just hiked my renewal by 10% so I'm currently trawling through gocomparetheconfusedsupermarket.com
The branded alternative insurers are at least £140 cheaper, however they all have a clause that says they won't cover any part of a repair or replacement which improves your car beyond its condition before the loss or damage took place. AVIVA doesn't have this clause.
So I'm concerned that this is what in warranty terms is known as "betterment", which I had removed from my Warranty Direct policy, and could mean that the insurer will ask you to contribute to the cost of replacement parts because the damaged part was older, and of inferior condition than its replacement.MY12 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand

Car insurance is a bloody scam in my opinion. Mine went up again this year. One thing to watch is the excess ! Some companies want £800 or more compulsory !Jarrod

I'd be concerned about the use of "green" parts too (scrap yard parts).2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
