Currently sat on a site near Le Man which has large open pitches a good swimming pool and some entertainment. Looking at next year and where to go. Would like a site with larger pitches and some entertainment but not to large or comercial.

Look at la-garangeoire in the Vendee.

We have been for the last 5 years, v hard to get a pitch as you need to book within a week of bookings being taken in the October (season before) but great for families and kids. Loads to do, fishing, cycling, beach is 10 mins away, tennis, football, etc etc

Camping pitches are fab and most families go back year on year. Those that keep returning also get first dibs on the pitches !!

Stayed on la-garangeoire a few years back, wasnt ipmressed - there are much better sites than that in the Vendee.

There is a dutch (https://www.rcn.nl/en/camping/france/vendee/rcn-la-ferme-du-latois) site at Coex that has large pitches and a lake, pool, restaurant and you arent plagued by teenagers.

If you want to head south south, we've just been on here (http://www.etoiledargens.com/en/) near Frejus on the Med coast (between Cannes and St Tropez) - Big pitches were 280 sq mtrs (and I would have said ours was bigger than this - got the 'van and full awning on, and could have got anothet 'van sames size with awning on, and 2 cars - the french folks next to us did this). Nice pool, restaurant, and free shuttle boat service down the river to the beach. Would recommend, but it is a bit of a haul

We've had tow very nice holidays in Dordogne on Les Castels sites - they are bigger than we would normally go to but the entertainment was optional and non-intrusive as the bars etc a way from pitches

http://www.camping-castels.co.uk/camping-l...ing29.html stayed on this site a few years back

Stayed at Saint Avit Loisirs last year and we liked it and 3 teenage kids loved it! Pitches a bit tight to get on - mover a must!

Dutch owned and 5 minute walk from a huge lake. Good drive from Calais and located in The Vendee. Big pitches, not very commercial. Only downside is the limited restaurant menu for teenagers. Snack bar has much more food though.

Got back on sunday from france and stayed in two campsites.

www.campingclubdefrance.fr/index.php/fr/la-gautrelle - simple site, very large pitches, very friendly people and on the beach.

www.campingboisoleil.com - PROS: large pitches, entertainment, water park with pools and slides, 5min drive away from fantastic surfing bitch spots. CONS:- Entertainment was finishing close to midnight, so if you are close to it loud people will be walking past your pitch well past midnight shouting.
 Disco 3 HSE (55) - gone
BMW x3 (62) x30d MSport - current

Best campsite in France and possibly in the entire continent of Europe, or even the World......

Camping Val de Cantobre, near Millau (yes where the big bridge is!).

Croissants and fresh farm milk delivered to your tent each morning..... Terraced up the side of a beautiful valley, perfection!

We've done several trips and love Chateau Les Eaux (http://welcome.lez-eaux.com/), but its Normandy.

So we tried some others in their 'group' and liked Camping Saint Avit Loisirs in the Dordoigne (http://www.saint-avit-loisirs.com/) and Camping La Grande Metairie (http://www.lagrandemetairie.com/en/) in Brittany.

We've also stayed at Sandaya's site Soulac Plage and would highly recommend this too.

All these have 'waterparks' with slides and nice pools. There is music in the evenings until 11.00pm but silence is very quick to settle thereafter.
