Lakeland Land Rover
Hello,
After all the feedback, I finally decided to go with Lakeland Land Rover. I picked my car up from the yesterday. I am very very pleased. Whilst they offered to deliver, I decided to travel to them (3 hours) just to make sure everything was OK before I took it, and as it was raining, I wanted to see it before it got muddy!
I went to view the car for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and had a good couple of hours unaccompanied test drive - which gave me a great chance to go through everything.
There were a couple of cosmetic things that needed dealing with after I'd viewed and driven it for the first time which were to be sorted before I picked it up. To be honest, given previous experience of buying cars from my local Stratstone dealership I was slightly nervous as my last Disco was in a real state when I picked it up from them. I dealt with Ryan PJ at Lakeland who was excellent throughout the process, and who assured me the car would look "as new" when I picked it up. It did (and I'm pretty picky), and was spotless. All the niggles had been dealt with, there was a full tank of diesel, and inside and out it was immaculate.
There was a good reassurance that any problems with it would be no problem to deal with in the future. Very happy with the deal I got, and the reassurance of buying from a decent dealership with good aftersales support is worth a lot to me given the grief I've had on previous TD5s. They also Waxoyled underneath and dig a great job with that. No other dealer was offering this service.
The drive back from the Lakes was excellent. It is so quiet and smooth on the Motorway. The old TD5 was great on country roads but felt very lacking on the motorway. I now totally understand why they put a 'bing' on the dash to let you know once you're over the speed limit!!!
Thanks to Ryan and Lakeland - happy customer.
John

Thanks. Cairns Blue, 06 Model, 55 SE auto with Alpacca leather. The auto is absolutely superb - love it! Didn't even bother test driving a manual after I'd tried it. Maybe I'm just getting lazy, but the cruise/auto combination is great! You can turn the 'bing' off though 8)
This is spooky....... Is there an alter ego thing going on here?
