Privilege & Co-Op car insurance
These two companies are the most competitive for my D4 policy renewal, due at the end of the month.
Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about making a claim with either company?
I've been with LV for years, as they always been competitive price wise, but more importantly very good when I made a claim (non fault).2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I normally end up switching between admiral and Privilige because of price, never had any issues and Privilige did not increase premiums on my D3 because of a remap. I also managed to get a LR branded screen from admiral with no hassle at all.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Both the Jazzez with Priv, been with them for several years and always competitive. OK, we do the dance every year re getting higher renewal then I get an online quite which is a good chunk lower but they always match it. D3 with NFU.

After many years with Saga who offered me just about the best cover I wanted at a very keen price, I was shocked at the massive increase in my premium they hit me with when I upgraded from a D1 to a D2 in the middle of last year.
Despite much haggling I couldn't get any meaningful explanation of the price rise, or easement in the price. [Just a bog standard top end JLR D2]
Co-op came up trumps, and gave me £50 of grocery vouchers as a Welcome present.....
However, I phoned them up about 2 weeks ago to ask about my cover for Green Laning [NOT Off Roading - I emphasized.]
The level of service and comprehension was shockingly bad.
The final person I spoke to said that the validity of any claim, and if it would be classed as a Green Lane experience, or Off Roading, would be made on the evidence supplied by all parties. He was unable to point me in the direction of any of their actual criteria by which either he, or I, could judge the matter.
He did suggest that if I hit a cow in the middle of a field, where the field was NOT being used as an official car park for a festival, then that would be classed as Off Roading, and NOT covered.
He promised a call back/eMail, from a senior manager with a definitive statement.
So far NOTHING.

One phone call to LV got the premium down from £528 to £496, but they'll not budge below that.
Co-Op is £422 (includes £50 food vouchers) and Privilege £429.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

D3 is shade over £400 with NFU, incl quite a long list of mods. Might be cheaper with Priv but NFU are fine with the nebulous concept of offroading and by all accounts provide excellent service if I do need to claim. Plus don't pay extra for my foreign jollies, though Morocco is 3rd pty only.

Seriously Paul, that would be the one thing that prevents me from using the Co-Op. I'd take the £50 vouchers maybe as that's for new customers. I'd not renew with them though 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

if you need offroad cover....you need to check em out...admiral don't for sure.....lancaster
I second NFU even if it is a little more. Good claims handling, no issues going off the tarmac, local branch, happy with modifications etc.
