disco 3 - blown engine

Hi all, I’m a regular viewer on this site and occasional poster. Unfortunately the engine on our D3 (2007 HSE auto with 137k) let go yesterday and whilst it is awaiting my local LR chap have a look to diagnose what happened, I am expecting that a replacement engine will be required due the cams not turning and a whole load of oil underneath the engine.

Unfortunately, due to the number of issues with the car, the wife is understandably keen to get rid of it so this is a factor in what we do (a) get it fixed then sell or (b) possibly sell as is.

If anyone has any experience in this scenario then I would be interested to hear from you in terms of good places to source an engine or other suggestions.

many thanks for any help received.
