I think I might be having second thoughts about the disposable overboots
I dont even know if they would be waterproof - doesn't say .... but they could provide some amusement
SWMBO said "this will be the first and only event I will be going to ..." maybe she justs need persuading that it IS really fun
so, you see, a good pair of wellies could just be wasted

have you seen the "breathable " fishermans socks. they can be worn inside shoes or boots, and are waterproof, so can be hosed down if they get muddy. i think they are made from goretex. i,ve seen them on the fishing category of ebay.... a few months ago. : The man who admits his mistake... he is a wise man.The man who admits his mistake ... even when he is right... he is a married man.

Taz, try a pair of these for SWMBO.
Not wellies, very fashionable, keeps the rain/much/dust out and she won't look out of place in the local supermarket/bistro

my missus has got a pair and swears by them. She's wore them at Rockingham/Boughrood and various other inhospitable locations and feet are dry and warm.

This thread reminded me that I didn't have any wellies.......
Looked at the Hunters which I'd like as they're really comfortable, but for the amount of use I would give them (or not...), £50 is a bit steep. so I've a pair of CountryWide own brand wellies for £20. Seem to be better constructed than the CW Dunlop wellies & they still have the side buckle split calf bit as well.
Your missus won't be on fashion parade & she can always change out of them when we get to the pub. by the time you buy disposable & all the phaff that goes with putting them on & off & lack of guaranteed waterproofness, just get a pair of wellies & have done with it. You never know, she might find them more stylish than you thought..... Bodsys Brake Bible
