"command shift" behaviour

I have noticed what I think is strange behavior with "command shift" mode, or maybe it is my gearbox.

If go in to "command shift" mode I can quite happily change up and down through the gears driving along. If I slow down but let the gearbox change down through the gears, when I come to a complete stop "command shift" is showing as being in 2nd gear. I would expect it to be in 1st gear.

Also when driving along the motorway at about 70mph it sounds like the engine is still revving quite high so I switch to "command shift" mode, go up a gear and the display briefly shows gear 5 then goes to 6th gear. At 70 mph, or thereabouts, cruising I would expect the car to be in 6th, not 5th.

Has anyone else experienced this or know if it is correct behavior?

thanks in advance

Is this behaviour on the motorway when the vehicle is cold? I think it holds onto 5th when the gearbox temps are low.

That's right and working how it should, it does use 2nd gear to start off in Thumbs Up

thanks guys for your answers, thats good to know. Very Happy

also today on the motorway when the car had warmed up, doing about 70 and I switched to command mode and then up a gear and it was already in 6th so maybe I noticed it before when the engine had not warmed up.

thanks again

It will use a lower gear until the gear box oil is up to its working temperature, once that target has been reached it'll then behave 'as you would expect' Thumbs Up

When you move the gear selector across it puts it into Sport Mode first, which would drop from 6th to 5th at 70mph and then just work as in auto mode changing gear as normal but holding onto the revs longer.

Once you move the lever to change gear up or down it then switches to Command Mode.

Mine never changes into 6th until warm on the motorway, sometimes I will use command shift to put it into 6th and it will then stay in 6th. I never try to force it to run at a higher gear until the temp needle is at least a quarter up the scale though.....
