I took delivery of my new Discovery Graphite on 1st March. So far the faults I have found are:
Temperature guage under reading (I expected this).
Steering wheel not straight.
2 clips holding the wheel arch liners missing.
Battery box lid not in place properly and split.
Booked in for, wait for it, 26th April to have things put right although I'm not confident they will have the necessary software update for the temperature guage as they know nothing about it! What faults have other owners found on their new cars?

Just curious about that date, wonder if they're trying to push you past the 30 day limit to reject it?

Don't want to reject it for such minor faults. They say they are very busy preparing new cars and their compound is very full. But on my experience their PDI can't be that time consuming!

I've had similar minor issues on all my new D3/4's. Pretty poor on any new vehicle, even more so on such an expensive one. Just my opinion though 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
2010 D4 HSE (A bit bling)-GONE
2014 D4 HSE (Almost too bling)-GONE
2015 D4 HSE (A heated what?)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Written Off)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Surely the last!) PD1881 rims-GONE

Does anyone have a new car handover checklist covering all the things you need to go through with the dealer (paperwork, keys, how to operate the vehicle) plus typical issues to look out for? It is easy to be mesmerised by the shiny new carton are presented with but miss obvious faults, and once you've driven off it is immediately that much harder to get a dealer to fix the issues.
Thanks

Interesting that your gauge is under reading 16MY owners are over reading, mines still to get the update.
Your list, though minor is pretty poor on any new vehicle.
Peteyd - Just go over your car with a fine tooth comb. If you think something doesn't look right then just point it out. Get them to show you AdBlue levels to make sure it's been topped up, front tow eye cover was problematic on 14/15MY cars but check it anyway. My 16MY had to go back to get the upper tailgate adjusted has it to a bit of slamming to shut. The salesman should explain how everything works in the car. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

No senior moment. Guage is reading 3 to 4 degrees higher than actual temperature!

Sadly ... you will need to check very carefully - and even then there will be issues you miss.....
I had many ...... I won't go into detail now (but you can always check my posts) the ones I missed:-
- check roof and rear light cluster for 'glue' runs.
- check side panels for 'paint sag' - still got a little left despite two visits to an LR authorised paint repairer many miles away .... lifes too short to keep on about it.
I could go on - but others have put on a comprehensive list in the past
And they are still letting both new and used cars out of the dealership with loose front towing eye covers!! - despite LR telling them not to!
Despite an A4 page of faults (with a small font) - still chuffed with the car - drive it with a permanent smug grin!! 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

If at 8 months and had no faults you must be unique
Unless of course the comment is "design intent"

It seems from posts on here that there are less than a few - just yours in the MY16 range

Picked up my new car yesterday. Checked the battery cover which was loose. They had to get a mechanic out of the garage to fit it properly. And the tow bar wouldn't fit. They had to take the car back in to the garage to make it fit (I suspect in a way that the customer wouldn't want to see... And the car was only half full of diesel, but I managed to get that fixed before we drove off.
And although yesterday was a beautiful day, I'm not sure it was quite as hot as the dashboard suggested...
