front lower arm balljoint lift

hi everyone, have just been doing the flexi front brake pipes on the disco and have noticed i have some upwards wheel play
looks like its coming from the ball joint on the bottom arm, does anyone know if its ok to have any lift or is it a new joint required, previous owner had new arms fitted just over a year ago ive done 10000mls since fitting so im rather suprised that its worn already

thanks for any replies
 please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick,thankyou

Yes its the ball joint that has worn, it needs to be replaced, it takes about an hour.

Why change the arms just because a £20 ball joint wants changing?
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I would guess the op is thinking the current arms bushes are as cheap quality wise as the ball joints and doesnt want to do it again in another 9k?
