New Graphite Owner - At Last
I've been a forum lurker for a year or two now, dreaming of getting my own Disco 4. Now with the imminent arrival of my first child, I used that as the perfect excuse to get the ultimate family car! I accept it may have been a slightly extreme method of getting the Disco
Anyhow, I quickly progressed from looking at secondhand models, via some very creative accounting, to getting a brand new Graphite, so I've jumped into Land Rover ownership feet first.
I've had the car for just over a week and after 600 varied miles it has exceeded my expectations; the combination of space, comfort, practicality, driving position, good air-con (for the one day of summer last weekend) and a surprising turn of speed all combine to make it possibly the best car I have owned.
I know it is early days and I am a novice Disco 4 owner, and a forum newbie, but I have been very impressed with the great amount of knowledge on the forum so I know I will be able to pick peoples' brains if need be
So, to prove it happened, here are some 'off-road' pictures...

Thanks nestu.
I haven't plucked up the courage to do any form of actual off-roading yet. My current insurer (Admiral) won't cover my hugely capable off-roader anywhere other that on the road anyways.
I may have to look to move elsewhere... Anyone got any recommendations for off-road friendly insurers? Even just green lanes? NFU perhaps.
Thanks,
Ian.

I liked your anti-theft device in photo number five but I don't think it would prevent a sustained attempt especially for someone with a log burner. Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Dangerous places land rover dealers we went in looking to check out something like the Disco sport as a possible replacement for our freelander and ended up with a Disco 4 - like you a lot of creative accounting to justify it to myself - but absolutely delighted with it in the 800 mins driven so far.

You're spot-on; it was a perfect of storm of me really wanting one, going into a showroom and applying some questionable man-maths
The salesman knew he had me from the outset as he found me sitting in a Landmark demonstrator caressing the wheel like Gollum with his precious.

Brilliant I need one of those tee shirts next time I go into a dealers
With us it was my wife saying this is very nice much better than the disco sport to the sales guy - the rest is history as they say
However even with the dubious maths I am still delighted with the car.
Also meant to say your new car looks superb - hope you enjoy it as much as we are enjoying ours

Fantastic looking motor. I've specced that colour combo many a time on the LR website!Previously owned an '08 D3 HSE in Stornoway grey but jumped ship to see what the Swedes have to offer.
