My discovery 3 rpm goes up and down when accelerating

Hi,

Anyone with knowledge of what could be a reason for my disco 3 model 2008 GS,

When accelerating the rpm goes up and down where the engine look like loosing power and some sort of shaking

Just discussed with local dealer here and told me that could be transfer case is parking

Unfortunately here in east Africa we have less options as few dealers are here around

Anybody who has a clue on it?

Thanks

Auto? Torque convertor knackered/on the way out would be my guess as had these problems.

Thanks

Is there a possibility of being repaired or we need to renew the same?

Thanks

I think others experiences on here are now pointing towards replacement of the torque converter as the best permanent fix. An oil change for the gearbox may improve it, but only temporarily.

Unfortunately because LR never specified a more frequent oil change for the gearbox, the interval is way too long and the damage is already done.
