Air Suspension Compressor |
|
Hey all
I got the common air suspension fault on the computer and told its not make enough pressure and needs replacing, which I believe is a common fault.
I just wanted to check on a rought guild to what u guys would think it would cost to replace it.
I was quoted £1000 to replace with new land rover parts and to upgrade the software which I was told I was needed as the newer one is a little different.
Thanks guys

Its roughly £300-£500 for the compressor (check eBay) and some labour but not a great deal.
If you go for the new AMK compressor you will need software update which is what most people do.

thanks for the quick reply, yes I believe it was the new AMK compressor quoted.
So would you say that is a fair price for the AMK + fitting and software update.

For a main dealer, maybe. For an indie I would expect closer to £600? You could always supply the parts. It's about an hour's labour to fit. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

okay, thanks for that. I wasn't a main dealer but they do deal with land rover.
I saw something about a air compressor Dryer kit that can be used, could this possible fix the problem?

Possibly. It depends if the issue is a damaged cap or restricted flow through the dryer.
You could always fit the Dunlop replacement. It's significantly cheaper than the AMK and no software update required...

Quoted 495+ vat for new AMK, 90+vat for air reservoir and 3 hours labour to fit today. So easily less than £1k

Thanks for the info, I had a look and it seems like the replacement part is quiet cheap.
If the compressor isn't working or producing enough air, what's happening with the suspension while it has the fault, could it cause more damage?

Thanks for that, so it's okay to run around while it's not working.
Not sure if they have springs/shocks too
