So i finally get to pick up the new car on Thursday. Is it normal to keep the brochure by the side of the bed or am I, as my wife claims, " abnormally obsessed"?

I've just looked in my "diddy box" and found D3 and D4 Brochures from when I bought my first one up to the present day. You're not obsessed - welcome to normal AFAIC.

PS SWMBO of course has a different opinion. Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

I've always done like you, brochure anywhere in the house (bath too) and asked tho the dealer immediately the instruction booklet.
And in between download from the internet GBs of infos (workshop manuals, wiring diagrams, ...)
Now, I'm used to keep the Discovery fob into my pocket even when using the company car or the SWMBO's eurobox (Ford Fiesta)Discovery 5 tdv6 HSE Corris Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

I'm probably even worse!
I think I can find the relevant brochure for most of the cars that I've owned since 1986! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Great looking car!
However those photo's might spark an issue like that dodgy dress did the other month. Is it silver or is it gold? It's great how the colour changes depending on the light! Bri

The colour has raised a few questions locally. It looks silver/grey almost all the time in normal light. When it starts to get dark, the colour shifts to very light gold.
It says Gold on the log book!
I'm loving the car, looks fantastic and drives beautifully.
